hello all I found this site http://en.opensuse.org/Radeon and added these four options...
and yeah my fps went up from 2400 to almost 2700 fps...
tis is even better than the fglrx driver who gave me 2300 fps

I was always busy trying to get 3d support with propriotory driver but the radeon driver out performs that one
and all this out of the box on my hp pavilion 8185 ea with a ati x600 card with suse 10.2
and o yes radeon supports composite, something that does not work with fglrx driver..

great work, boys and girls of this world

greetzz from holland

output: libGL warning: 3D driver claims to not support visual 0x4b
10003 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2000.594 FPS
13334 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2666.723 FPS
13383 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2676.488 FPS
13370 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2673.827 FPS
13342 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2668.272 FPS
13371 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2674.147 FPS
13302 frames in 5.0 seconds = 2660.265 FPS

maby someone can explain me the warning.. xgl and composite work perfect

be aware that the default radeon driver doesn't support all Radeon GPUs

as to missing visual 0x4b, don't know what the issue is

Visual 0x4b is 32bit colors, but even the fglrx drivers do not support Opengl in 32bit colors.

As for cards supported by the Opensource driver, all radeon up to and including the x850 series are supported by this this driver.

the radeon driver is included with the Xorg server itself, no need to download it separately... just replace the fglrx driver with the radeon driver in the xorg.conf file
