I really like Konqueror's extra preferences it allows, especially the ability to block (not just identify differently) a browser and OS's info that's sent to webpages.
In firefox, to accomplish this you go type in about:config in the address bar, you click on an empty space and add a new string.
name it general.useragent.override and give it any value you want, for example, penguin power or whatever.
that's it, G. Rammstein's (and a couple more of you) little script will only just pick up the ip.
I couldn't post with out that thing reminding me my fly was open!

Now, all that's left is to get Steganos to work with WINE

well that's it, got ta serve up the turkey.

EDIT: Thanks Linux_Learner for the keys to this knowledge!!

Personally I think it's very important to allow the web browsers to send the information.

There are still a lot of sites out there that don't create compliant pages, many monitor web traffic and usage, and having our computers provide the correct information is the best way to let them know that Windows and IE isn't the only player in the game.

i completely agree with Bruce, indeed after trying to hide my info in to browser even gmail was completely screwed (no delete button and other menu entries, and a line suggested "Use a compatible browser")

But it was an interesting finding, i didn't know about that, so thanks tuxedo
