due to enormous popularity of my howto (joking), I decided to update my description regarding custom kernel.
I have re-written it so it should be more "universal" and should work with any future kernel (unless it will be no longer "universal"). I removed any references to different patches. If someone is interested in these, Any comments, complaints, crying for help welcome. forgot to add: old howto: http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/in...howtopic=13698 and here: http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.ph...mp;#entry176917 custom kernel will not speed up system responsiveness very much. This might help: http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/in...howtopic=45625 video related: http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.ph...9&hl=nvidia securing kernel against suse updates ![]() http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.ph...9&hl=nvidia One thing, howto contain some information regarding off line nvidia installation and building multikernel system with nvidia. However i have no experience with ATI, so I did not mention it. |
