I'm trying to autoload the alsa-oss emulation modules 'snd-pcm-oss' and 'snd-mixer-oss', so that I can use skype. Up until now, I've just manually loaded them with modprobe. Which config file do I edit to make this happen at boot, system-wide? I'm just a bit unsure of the syntax etc
I hope (along with tens of thousands of others) skype produces a video and alsa capable update soon.... On the other hand, maybe an open source alternative using the 'libjingle' library will provide the world with supperior communication tools: http://blogs.zdnet.com/ip-telephony/index.php?p=807 Anyway, hoping someone can shed some light. Thanks. |

You'll need to adjust Alsa dmix pugin which provides for direct mixing of multiple streams.
It'not only for Skype - it really cool thing if you don't have a hardware mixer on you soundcard. |
