What files are you on about dogit?

Oh by the way

in a console

info cron
man cron
info crontab
man crontab

are excellent resources all about it - pay attention, there will be an exam on this ;-)

The instruction didn't work for me I am using gnome desktop so i'm lost. Any help would be appreciated. I already have f-prot installed.
