Hi everyone,
Here is how I managed to see flash movies in my firefox(64-bit version). You dont need to install the 32-bit version of Firefox!!!!!! Just do the followings. 1st Open YaST2.(If u do not understand i cant help u) 2nd Check if the gtk2 and tha gtk2-32bit are installed. If they are not install them. 3rd Check if the nspluginwrapper is installed. If it isnt install it. 4th Search for Macromedia Flash Plugin(key word "flash"). Install it. 5th Close YaST2 and open a terminal(console). 6th sudo -s hit enter root password hit enter 7th cp /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/firefox/plugins hit enter 8th nspluginwrapper -i /usr/lib64/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so hit enter 9th Check if you can see a flash movie. P.S. Dont start asking me things im new to linux and even ner to openSuse. ;p |

Well my Flash in FF worked out of the box, so to speak. From default KDE install. Installed Flash, thats it.

I am running on KDE, too, and my Firefox had Flash since I booted up 10.3. I think it was part of the DVD installation. I wonder why there are lots of folks with this same issue? Mine just "works."

The latest version of flash-player has GTK-dependencies that may not necessarily be in place during a KDE-only install.
I can't say for sure, I've held off on upgrading because of the issues with Konq compatibility, but I've heard enough complaining about the new flash-player that I hope Adobe is going back to the drawing board, at least if they're serious about linux. Just my 2c... Cheers, KV |

After various upgrades flash stopped working in Firefox SUSE 10.3. This was the solution!!! Thankyou.

I followed the above...no joy
I removed all inc ff and started over and still it doesn't want to play ball. I'm leaning towards the ati driver possibly causing the issue but I'm not sure. In some flash frames I get mouse trails that stay fixed in the frame! |

THere is a little mistake on 7th Step
7th cp /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/firefox/plugins the Flash Plugin on 10.3 SUSE X86_64 it's in: /usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so the correct is 7TH cp /usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib64/firefox/plugins the other steps are correct ![]() |

As mentioned in Post 8, the path for step 7 is:
/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so Other then that, works good and flash videos are playing again after they stopped working after some Online Update was installed a few months ago. |
