Simply go here and download the SUSE 9.3 version RPM of CupsPDF no matter what version of Opensuse you have.

http://www.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~vrbehr.../download.shtml

open the RPM in Konqueror. Above there will be a button saying "install package with yast"
click it. password, install. check dependencies from tab

At first it may not install but try again it took me twice. Don't open the "software management" to install it.

Once installed log out and get back in.

STEP 1
In Firefox where you have the print option there will be options and you have to choose the option "CUPS/cupsPDF"

Remember where you saved the file.

STEP 2
I think you have to name the file so give it a name you can remember "trial" and the location, the file will be saved as trial.ps [ps = postscript] The file will be larger depending what you are saving if it has pictures expect from 1 to 64megasbytes.

Then you highlight that file from Konqueror but right click on it to get the menu.
Choose ->"open with" -> "KGhostview".
KGhostview must open in its own window/environment

Then:
->File -> "Print" ... from the options or menu choose "Print to PDF"
Again remember you have to name the file and give it a location.
back to a window and click tab "print"

Voila.

This took me 8 months to figure out. Unfortunately web pages don't come out right. I haven't played much with other packages to see how it flares.

Have fun.

I guess nobody tried it, or it doesn't work for anybody.
Or everyone knew how to do this already and I just caught up.

Oh well.

Well, its still nice to share one's experiences, even if it is something many of us have been doing for years. Thanks for sharing, and please don't let this lack of response deter you from sharing any other insights you may have after playing with Linux a bit.
