Hi,
I installed two differant linux systems on one computer at differant times in the past year, and had a problem with the system freezing and unfreezing every five seconds or so, after I updated the initial install. I finally ran across a fix for the problem, here it is: Open a terminal Su Password kwrite /etc/rc.conf save a copy of the file to your user home file in the file find powerd_enable="YES" change it to powerd_enable="NO" in the kwrite file drop down menu find save as, and save the altered file as /etc/rc.conf reboot the system, or maybe just log out and back in, I rebooted. The freezing should be gone. |
