When I boot any Linux OS on my nforce5 am2 mobo, I need to enter the boot code "noapic".
I have been using the "Safe" version of Acronis True Image 9.0.3677 because I could not get the "Full" version to boot. Yes, I am too cheap to upgrade to version 10. Note: while the package is sold as windows software, the workhorse OS on the CD you make is pure Linux!
I felt that if I could ever enter the boot code somehow, it would work. Well, I finally found a way.
Start to boot the ATI Full version CD and it will bring you to a splash window where you can select ATI or Windows. Hit "F11" which will bring up the familiar Linux boot line, and enter "noapic"
Hit return to start the boot.
Ta Da.....in a few seconds, there is ATI.
Happy imaging...
