Also, once you installed a certain package, you might not need that installation source any more. For example, once you installed the nVidia driver, you might as well disable that source (and perhaps refresh as well).

Having too many of those will create delays when starting yast as it starts downloading the package databases etc... but some of them you probably won't need anymore after you used them for certain purposes. Such as nVidia, Wine, etc. ...

I agree. However, I don't remove one that I don't need anymore. I simply turn it off. That way, I can turn it back on later if needed again when a new version of something comes out. The more active repositories you have, the longer it takes to verify them each time you run it.

Darkelve. You beat me to my point.

Yes. Sometimes, very seldomly, I'm actually fast
The long time it sometimes takes for all repos to be verified is one of the few negative things I experienced about the Yast+Online Update Sources approach. Then again, 99% of the time it works just fine. And I haven't run into dependency problems for ages...

Edit: actually, I think it wasn't very wise of me to suggest to disable the nvidia repository... because, if there's a new kernel update, then it won't upgrade the nvidia drivers also, will it?

You will have to get the internet connection working before you can do this.
