I just would like to post this in case there are others like me out there.
I have been searching for the last few days for a good, easy to configure 802.11G wireless card. I am a linux Newbie so I was looking for something that would require the least amount of configuration possible. I searched the web for a few days and poked around here a bit. Despite finding threads with instructions for NDIS wrapper and how to config cards with it I did not find a thread saying --- Buy this card and you will have it easy.
So eventualy I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to have to use NDIS wrapper to get a card I bought working, as I have no credit card so could not order a card with listed linux driver support.
So I took the plunge. I went out last night and bought a BELKIN F5D7000UK and plugged it into my machine this morning. Windows config was a breeze (but you don't want to hear that)
OK so I run Suse 9.3 pro in a dual boot with Windows XP. Once I had finished configuring the network card in windows I rebooted to Suse.
The config in Suse was even easier than windoze, On startup Yast said it had detected new hardware and prompted me to configure it. Configuration was as simple as typing in my network ID and clicking next. (I will setup WPA and MAC filtering later I took them off to install the new card).
So as a Linux newbie (but windows MCP) I would recommend the Belkin F5D7000UK card for a easy to configure, cheap (it was only €32) and so far reliable wireless nic.
