I described a method of Japanese input regarding a reinstallation of Linux and changing the system language to Japanese. This is suitable for a very narrow audience. The following method may be much, much better: I have not actually tested this method, but it looks as though it'll work. Only resort to my method if this doesn't work. DO NOT REINSTALL I sure hope everyone reads down the posts before taking jenovanomusuko's advice as gospel.... Instead: 1. Install fwnn and kinput2 - you can find these in the control center, yast2 modules, software by searching for them. 2. Do the following commands: $ export XMODIFIERS="@im=kinput2" $ export LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 $ kinput2 -xim -kinput -wnn & $ gvim 3. In gvim hit 'Shift & Space' and you should see a small ? appear in a box at the base of your gvim window. 4. Refer to the following doco for more complete information: http://www.suse.de/~mfabian/suse-cjk/input.html |
