1st install latest clamav

2nd go here:
http://mirrors.sth.sze.hu/linux/suse/i386/...x86_64/?C=M;O=A
and D/L openssl, openssl-devel & openssl-doc -0.9.7d-25.1 series x86-64 rpm's. (thanks to andrew18)
now in yast, remove openssl-0.9.7e-3 --it's going to scream no-no-no, brokenpackages, etc just use ignore, ignore until it does ignore & deletes it.
immediately install using "rpm -ihv" the three packages you D/Led. open yast or apt to see if you have any broken packages -- I didn't. This was done to solve a dependency for curl-devel.

3rd:
go to apt using synaptic and install/apply latest curl-devel.

4th:
go here: http://www.dazuko.org/downloads.shtml
and D/L dazuko-2.0.6.tar.gz
untar it with "tar xzvf dazuko-2.0.6.tar.gz" or you will have trouble.
next go here: http://www.dazuko.org/tgen.shtml#SUSE,
section 2.2 What are the known issues with SuSE Linux? and follow the directions.
reboot when you are done.

5th find clamd (/usr/sbin/clamd) copy it to /home/yourname/bin and /usr/local/bin

6th:
go here: http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/rpm-naviga...=System/klamav/
and down at the bottom, select the src rpm that matches the version of KDE that you have -- in my case,
/klamav-0.17.2-1.guru.suse93.kde34.src.rpm.
as "su -" root, do rpmbuild --rebuild /klamav-0.17.2-1.guru.suse93.kde34.src.rpm.

7th:
cd to /usr/src/packages/rpm/x86-64 and there should be your klamav x86-64 rpm.
install with rpm -ihv klamav-whatever.rpm.

I think that I have included all the steps -- doing this from memory as to what worked. If you have trouble get back & I'll try to help.

lastly right click the desktop and creat a link to application = klamav
and you are in business. It will do a couple of little setup windows, then update the virus base and then you are ready to setup your email and do some heavy scanning including windows if you happen to dual boot.

Have fun

Now no need to do this step:
2nd go here:
http://mirrors.sth.sze.hu/linux/suse...86_64/?C=M;O=A
and D/L openssl, openssl-devel & openssl-doc -0.9.7d-25.1 series x86-64 rpm's.
This was done to solve a dependency for curl-devel.

replace with:
Just install openssl-devel-0.9.7e-3 via apt (wasn't there when I first did this).

Also on my laptop, I had to install "libjpeg-devel" to provide libjpeg.la to get the src rpm to rebuild.

Have fun!
