Over on Novell cool solutions here: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/14653.html there's a feature on how to add a "Panic Button" to your taskbar to force a misbehaving app to quit

I think it's a real neat solution, and the forum should know about it. So now you do!

It's simpler to kill by pressing "Ctrl+Alt+Esc", and then click on stalled app.

Doesn't work in Gnome, but the force quit can be added.

It wasn't entirely obvious from the description that this is for Gnome only :-(

I normally use xkill, which gives the same functionality at the expense of a little more work.

My apologies for not being clear that this was for Gnome. Isn't Gnome what everybody uses?

I won't rise to that one.
