I've searched both these forums, the mozilla forums, and another forum that I thought I might have seen this in, with no luck, but a month or 2 ago I remember seeing a post talking about how to change the big ugly buttons in firefox to the nice clean buttons that are given by default in windows. You know what I'm talking about?

anyways, has anyone seen or remember a post talking about this, and giving the code needed to tweak it? I really wish I could remember. hehe

*edit*
YEY, nevermind. found the post, I changed the search parameters to look at all posts from any date. fyi, if anyone's curious to what I'm talking about: http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.ph...firefox+toolbar

Hi rpassmore you can reduce the size of buttons on your top tile bar in FireFox by Right clicking on a blanc space next to the Help Button and menu will open and you can select "Small Icons" at the bottom of the list you can also add extra Buttons along the top tile bar like rint, Open Downloads, Open New Window and a few others by clicking on it and dragging it up to the tile bar, Hope it's what you were looking for.

thanks, but I was talking about the "extra" width surrounding the buttons. almost looks like the buttons are on top of a button...double button? lol with the exception of themes, the code in the linked thread is what's needed to remove this extra width.

coincidently, and I'm not sure why they chose to do this, it seems that the firefox devs decided to add this "feature" only to the linux version.

I suggest you try the 'Noia Extreme' theme in combination with the 'small icon' customization option. That should give you some relief until you can change-out the old monitor you're using!
