Unhappy

I have a USB phone, model UP-10, which comes with W* driver software.

What driver software do I need for Suse10.2, and where can I get it please?

You'll probably find that it will work as a USB audio device without any problems, you can assign it to Skype as a handset, mine works fine that way. But support for the buttons and switches is more problematic. If you are very lucky it might be one of a few of chipsets where someone has written a driver, but more likely there is no driver. Sorry I can't tell you where to start looking, maybe google for the model, or the USB IDs. Good luck.

Thanks. How do I set it up as an audio device, and how do I assign it please?

Just plug it in and it should be seen and you can then control it with the mixer, etc.

Plugged in. Cannot find under Hardware in YAST, apart from an "unclassified" item under USB.

The test call (record own voice and have it plated back), does not respond. I just get the Skype end of things.

Keying in my home phone number at the PC keyboard does ring and the feedback howl suggests that the mic is working in at least one direction - I think the landline phone mic to the PC speakers. But I get no response from the phone mic, nor the keys - just the led flashing wjen I have pressed the blue CALL (?) button with the handset icon on it.

I have checked the mixer (Kmix) and all inputs are up to midpoint at least.

What am I missing ??

You should be able to find it under devices in the Skype config.

As I said before, you won't have a driver for the buttons, only the sound device.
