Hi,
I am looking for some information about suitable applications that will allow me to capture video input to harddrive. I have tried to google information and haven't been too successful finding what I am looking for. So to make this clear, I will describe what I am doing and let others advise me how to procede.

I have been using Nero on WinXP to capture video to hard drive on my computer. The video input is from a video player that I connect to an ATI TV capture card that I installed in my computer. I save the video to my hard drive as an avi file with Nero, then I convert that to an Mpeg file to burn it to dvd. I think that these are the file types I run through, I am away from home on a trip so can't doublecheck these at the moment.

Nailing down an application that I need to capture the video input to harddrive is giving the most difficulty. I have used kde tv and a couple of other apps to view the input, but I can't find any way to record it.

I would like to move from the WinXP/Nero process of creating these dvd's from old VHS videos to be able to do this on Suse. I appreciate the instruction others will provide me with your answers.
