I was trying to do some minor touching up on some charts for a report today, and all I have installed in the way of graphics editors is GIMP. Now GIMP is a great program, but I don't need that much power if all I need to do is add a title or picture to a chart. I was trying to use GIMP to do that today, and I couldn't move anything without it disappearing completely (I think it was going to a different layer). I don't understand layers yet, so is there something very simple that's on par with MS paint that I could install and use? Or could I use Paint under Wine? If I want to go get an ice cream cone from Sunset, I don't want to fly an F16 fighter jet to get there, I want to hop in my simple old car and drive there. Thanks in advance, if anybody can help.

Try Krita. Its a very simple but capable graphics application.

Ok, thanks for your help. I found out I had that in the Yast repository, and got that installed. It's an improvement, but I was looking for something even simpler than that...something really basic, just like MS Paint. I never thought I'd be saying that, but I'm saying it.

I can relate to that - you just want to get the job done. No point using a chain saw to slice the bread huh?

Use openSUSE Software Search to search for kolourpaint. Make sure you select your correct suse version first. I believe this application is very similar to M$-P@#nt.

Ahh, tuxpaint should do the job, although I feel a bit silly using it. Apparently it's a kid's game :-D
