Thumbs up

Can anyone recommend speech recognition for Linux? I am looking for something similar to Windoze speech recognition that comes with Vista.

Thanks

To my knowledge there are no complete projects, but you can look into things like Open Mind Speech.

If you're solely looking for the command and control part, check out gnome-voice-control. I don't think anything else exists that comes close on KDE, xfce etc.

If you want dictation too, then you're out of luck. The quality of the available acoustic models is not good enough yet. You can help by donating some speech at the open source speech recognition project VoxForge.
