This is not a hardware compatibility issue. Brothers Multi-functional (printer, scanner, fax) center number MFC 9440cn has a down loadable linux driver posted on Brother's website. In Windows, I can download directly and install. Being new to SUSE 10.3, I guess, the process is that drivers and software are first installed in the SUSE repository. (Correct?)

The question is how can this be added to the SUSE 10.3 repository? Does it require special access? Is there an alternative means in SUSE 10.3 to install such software? (P.S. I already tried the CD and pointing the repository to my local CD. It gave me an error).

In addition, this multi-functional printer is connected to my HUB-Router. It is not to be connected directly to my computer. It is a network connection. But the Brother driver does that automatically. The question is how can the Brother driver (for the printer but for the scanner and the fax also) be installed.

Remember it is not just a printer driver but a suite to run all three functions. Plus it is on the network.

Thank you in advance.

Kush K
