Not all the apps matched here will have feature by feature equivalence, but it's a good place to start. A fair number of the lesser used programs will not have prebuilt openSUSE packages, and will require building from source. If you're new to Linux, it's best to spend time getting used to the OS and it's configuration before you jump into compiling software.

The list is also a work in progress, so if you see something missing, you might add it.

Linx App Finder is one of my favorite app sites - unless you're looking for something seriously obscure it tends to have the most useful apps highlighted, rather than just tons of random junk such as in places like Freshmeat...

This is an excellent link. I greatly appreciate you sharing this with us. This gives me many more tools to use in my arsenal when someone tells me "But, I use such and such in Windows..." Looks like no more excuses. He, he, he...
