Is it possible to rip the audio off of a DVD and make it into an audio file to play on an mp3 player using opensuse?

DVD or CD?

For audio CDs, you can use Amarok or grip. But you will need to install the software for restricted formats first. It's a one-click install from

You can try the program Devidify, it works pretty good and I think it will do what you want to.
You can find it in the packman repository
