I have recently installed suse 10.3 and have my amarok running but when i run kaffeine it returns the following error message
Error - Kaffeine Player Loading of player part 'XinePart' failed. |

Try installing VLC from the repositories. It works better than Kaffeine.

It's probably just a compatability issue between the Kaffeine and xine-lib pkgs.
Are you using the openSUSE supported versions or third party mixes? |

Advice for a simple set of repositories to use is here:
http://opensuse-community.org/Repositories/10.3 where they suggestion only: * OSS * Non-OSS * Packman * Main Update Repository Do not forget to include the "main update repository". My experience for openSUSE-10.3 is if you add both the Packman (recommended) and the VideoLan repositories at the same time, you can get some circular dependency references, and the dependency checks fail. So I recommend you only activate one of those two repos at a time, .... ie either Packman or Videolan, but not both. I prefer Packman. Once you have your repositories properly setup, then go ahead and install libxine, kaffeine, w32codec-all, xvid from Packman. Kaffiene will then work. If you still have problems, post here the output of: "zypper -v lr" (no quotes) and also post the output of: rpm -q libxine1 kaffeine w32codec-all xvid |
