Hi!

I try to convert videos for my iPhone.
Suse 10.3 64x

I just found thishttp://techlogg.com/rockpod/ but i get an error massage (from the application itself) when i start to convert a video:

/home/bigb/downloads/RockPod/ffmpeg_11599: error while loading shared libraries: liba52-0.7.4.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The needed packages are:
liba52-dev libfaac-dev libfaad2-dev libgsm1-dev liblame-dev libxvidcore4 libxvidcore-dev

I tryed to get this a52 from yast and from sorce too. Does anyone know how can i get this library?

Looks like it might be in the packman repo.

I have this package installed you just linked me. This "a52dec"

This Rockpod is an "allone standing" application, like an exe file... It looks like a sript for me or so... no need to configure it or so... What shall i do so it can find this a52 (iguess its a codec or so)

liba52 is included with a52dec. The current version is a52dec-0.7.4-3.pm.3. There is also a version of the a52dec codec included with vlc, but I don't think that is relevant.

Perhaps check the version of your a52dec to see if it is relevant? Maybe you have an old version?

Also, is there any chance a program like xvidenc, h264enc, or divxenc will convert videos like you want for your iphone? Those 3 are scripts, with default settings, so its very easy to navigate thru the scripts by just pressing <RETURN> where you don't undertand the question.
xvidenc: http://xvidenc.sourceforge.net/
h264enc: http://h264enc.sourceforge.net/
divxenc: http://divxenc.sourceforge.net/

I have this a52dec-0.7.4-3.pm! I don't understand what could be its problem... maybe the 64x structure?

This divxenc seems to be cool too... the thing is it requires some dependencies i cant solve again

Is there an other video converting tool, one that has a GUI?

you could try avidemux- I've used it to convert files for my PSP, although I'm pretty much a novice and had to fiddle around a lot to do it!
It's in the packman repo, and uses GTK for the front end. I'm running KDE but use it fine.
