ARCHIVES - Multimedia Questions specific to multimedia software on SUSE Linux

I've installed Suse 10.3 and all the required packets and codecs for playing videos (xine, win32, dvdcss and on an on.....) also several video players and ALL dependant packets but still, when i playback a video there are just lines with some silhouettes of an video shown. Sound works fine though. When i playback from console it shows no errors whatsoever...

There's a funny thing too - if i play a video and during playback open the same video again it works (but is most annoying that it wont work the first time). All the video thumbs show OK as well. I have no idea what the problem might be. The same thing happens with video players Mplayer, xine, Kaffeine, VLC and applies to all formats .wmv, .mov, .mpg, .avi...

Can anybody help please, my computer was close to flying out the window already....THANKS!!

OK i fixed it was a x11 rendering issue..
