I've had this a few times on 10.2 last year, now running 10.3 64 bit:
After a clean install of OpenSUSE 10.3 64 bit, I want Amarok to use MySQL as database. Only, the space under 'collection' where this setup is supposed to be, is empty. I think in the past this issue could be resolved by updating Amarok from the Packman repo. Only, since reinstalling I cannot update Amarok from Packman because of dependency issues .. most prominently 'libtunepimp5' seems to pop up all the time. I've tried dozens of times, there's no end to the dependency issues I get. The SUSE installation is fresh, online update has been performed with the standard update repo enabled. Later I've added several of the community repositories including Packman and VLC. |

Resolved!
Often times the request for help is written in the darkest hour. And the darkest hour is always before dawn so they say ![]() I was allowed to install Amarok from Packman after ignoring a few dependencies - starting with installing libtunepinp5. That in turn installed a whole bunch of other stuff from there, and now Amarok shows the database setup under 'collection'. I wish I could give a more detailed description of what I did differently from my other tries, and answer why this issue erupts on this single machine in the universe, but then again .. probably nobody needs it
