Hey all,

I downloaded Wine 1.0-rc1 a few weeks ago through the online repositories, and it's been working relatively fine up until I ran into a weird problem today. I installed Warcraft III and it works great, almost no issue, but when I try to install Frozen Throne (the expansion pack) it just stops about 60% into the installation (when about 80% of the War3xlocal.mpq is installed).

With that, I have two questions about this:
1. How do I install Wine patches because there seems to be something that MIGHT fix this, but not sure how to install the patch provided.
2. If I remove Wine and then download a lower version, will I loss all programs that I have installed?

Thank you!

I'm not quite sure what uninstalling wine does, but all your program folders are still there afterward. And if you install a different version later on, everything should still work, or at least it does for me whenever I upgrade to a newer version.

Don't know about patching Wine though, I have never tried that.

Okay, thanks.

I'm trying to figure out how to patch Wine.

I know how to use the patch function, just not sure which file needs to be patched.
