Hey all,

I have been using OpenSUSE 10.3 as my main boot for a few days now, and I finally installed STEAM and Team Fortress 2 through Wine a couple days ago. I came across a very weird problem with Team Fortress 2. When I run the game though the Games tab on STEAM, I get a pretty serious graphics issue. The loading screen (with the Valve logo and Source information) of the game alternately loads for about 1/2 a second, and then stops for like 1/2 a second. Then once I get to the main screen for the game, I have an even crazier graphics issue: the background image is stretched beyond recognition and the text is illegible. The resolution for the game is also changed to 640x480 in game, and when the game closes, it stays that way on SUSE completely until I manually change it.

Example of Main Screen =>http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...reenshot-2.png

I'm using OpenSUSE 10.3 with all the updates installed. I'm also using Wine 1.0-rc1 to run both STEAM and Team Fortress. I'm not very familiar with Wine on Linux and driver compatibility in general. It would be a great help to resolve this problem (so I don't have to switch to Windows to play a game, and then switch back to Linux to do mostly, everything else).

Thank you in advance!

EDIT:

I just found out the solution after some searching around with drivers: my NVIDIA drivers were not the most recent version which caused very bad problems with TF2 when played through STEAM. All that needs to be done (in case anyone else runs into this problem) is update your drivers.
