Hi all,

This is my first post. I'm a Slackware 12.1 user and am very fond of my Slack box, but i recon it's not perfect - i can't play my favourite game there! The main I looked up openSUSE is I heard someone managed to run Conquer Online on openSUSE 10.3.

In Slackware, I tried wine, cedega, crossover, all without success...

I wouldn't mind installing openSUSE either on a VM or on a hard drive partition if I could play it. And, if it runs indeed, I might even set up my laptop with this OS and use my desktop as a Slackware server.

Can anyone help?

It has been a *very* long time since i have played that game. Does this game have any anti-hack program? i.e. gameguard, hackshield, etc.? If it does, that's why you cant play it.

Here's a piece of info from WineHQ

http://appdb.winehq.org/appview.php?versionId=2334
The article mentioned something about using Wine 20040615 which as far as i can figure is close to the same as wine 0.9
It also mentions bugs like not being able to equip your items, so you may have to install virtualbox and win98 if you have it or windows Xp and play it in the VM
