Warsow First Run "out Of Range" Error ? :s

hi,
i installed warsow without any problems, then i start warsow in console
and my monitor shows: "out of range"

does any1 know which resolution is default one after running the first time of warsow?
Could it be that the default resolution is too high for my monitor? like 1600*1200 ???

Anyone ideas why this error "out of range" appears?

I have the same problem. Brand new format(winxp SP2 with all latest updates), lates nvidia drivers(geforce 6800 ultra), and asus mobo (with nvidia chipset), and an amd 64. Newest version of warsow(0.42). Gives out of range, i've even tried -width 1280 -height 1024 -bpp 32 as command line parameters, and the program "reforce" to force certian htz at different resolutions....all no go. I can hear the game, but have not memorized where to go to change the resolution(menus). Thanks for any help.

OK! Did a bit more investigating and found this on another site...

www.warsow.net--->wiki-->commands--->r_:renderesettings -->r_mode (for resolution)
www.warsow.net--->wiki-->commands--->vid_: videocardsettings-->vid_fullscreen

In other words go to

and find the correct 'r_mode' setting for your video card and screen. Mine would be '9', i.e. 1280x1024

So, depending on your operating system, find the .warsow subdirectory, (with the dot in front coz it;s hidden), and then the 'basewsw' directory below that and edit the file called config.cfg, like this

andy@linux-ij36:~/.warsow/basewsw> vi config.cfg

and change whatever the r_mode is set to to a 9 or 6 or whatever your card/screen require. Obviously, you don't have to use vi to edit the file or use a terminal at all if you prefer not to but remember, the 'warsow directory is hidden. Anyway, you get the idea.

Mine worked OK first time but I had to fiddle with the settings to get the best results when in the game.
