After this upcoming Patch Tuesday (November 6th, 2007), an official Linux client for EVE Online will be available from eve-online.com. I'll at least be giving it a shot.

For those of you who are interested (or already play), send me an EVE-Mail. My character's name is "Biterno Sintaph". See you in space!

Great but... is it fun? I mean, what's it like?

Edit: also, when I sign up for the trial, it asks me to download a 600mb exe file... but, if I want to play under Linux, is that file useful to me at all??

I enjoy it, but I can't guarantee it's fun for you. It's a different kind of MMORPG. Similar to Freelancer or X3, but with a different flight system.

The Linux client won't be available until Tuesday-ish.

Hmmm..

I looked over it and it's not native . It's mixed up with Cedega .

Maybe it will work a bit better with this customized cedega built in . I tried Eve with Cedega about one year ago and it was playable .. nothing more nothing less .

I'll give it a go just for the kicks to see how it's running this time .

For those already playing Eve ... Fly Safe !!
