This game is fun to play if you have a lot of time on your hands. If you hardware in you computer is not top notch then this game will "more than likely" play on it. It is a fantastic war game, that you must build up points food, wood, gold and men to wipe out the other players. B)

Is it available for Linux (better yet, is it in the repositories)?? And do you have a link to the official site?

I've been toying with the idea of Wing Commander Privateer Gemini Gold myself. Played it years ago on my roomate's PC.

to be perfectly honest. I don't know If it works on Linux. You have to but the cd(3) to play the game. It is truely a great game. If you do decide to get it and want to play with a lot of people online then get the regular game not warcheifs. ok. I know it plays excellent on xp, and 2000

Many people gave AOE III v1.0 a Gold rating in it's Wine AppDB entry.

In case you're still out of the loop age of empires is a Microsoft game, so it won't be for Linux. The only way you can run it is with WINE as AndrewTheArt was saying.

I played one of the old AOE's, that's more my style for gaming. My wife and I are not gamers, but we are particular to things like Civilizaiton (and SimCity, CivRome etc.) and related. Good fun, requires some thought, and doesn't require the drastic graphics requirements that FPS games do.

I may actually abandon my Wine-boycott, and look into running them under it rather than booting into VIsta, just to see if I can...

Cheers,
KV
