I don't own a subscription - I compile from CVS, and haven't had time to check out the new 5.0 CVS yet.

Please let us know your experience!

I made it past Thunderhead Keep yesterday and into the Ring Of Fire island chain! I'm thinking about buying the product to be able to play GW and maybe a few other titles, so any feedback is more then welcome! I will need the Power of Linux to overcome the next obstacles on my path! B)

Besides I got problems with my Windows system too, since my C: drive is nearly full. Dunno why, but I can't even install some things anymore... I've got AVG antivirus running here, plus Spybot Search&Destroy, with regular checks and updates...

I'm not going to put up with it anymore, but I need my (or at least some games)!

I've installed it the other day. I have only had time to play Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War breifly due to school work.

It is actually really nice. They have integrated the Point 2 Play system into it so you need to have a subscription (Probably not with the CVS version). During first startup, it will go online and download the actual new version of cedega along with the MSfont and Mozilla IE pluging automagically.

One of the really really nice things is they fixed the annoying SuSE automount bug/problem. I didn't have to do a mount/umount dance as root with this as I did in previous versions. Just eject the old disc and put the new one in. After about 3-5 seconds, hit resume (cd automount needs a few seconds to mount it.)

As for performance, I've only tried Dawn of War so I've been limited. I haven't noticed any real problems yet. (There is one for installing a patch for DoW, but it is documented in the wiki for the game).

If you own an ATI card don't do it. GW doesn't work on linux with Cedega due to poor driver support. I have an ATI 9800 pro and I can not get GW to work with any version of Cedega

My appologies to Darkelve and Andrew. I never installed Cedega 5.0 this weekend like I siad I was going to. But it looks like I will have to now to play GW. I killed my windows partition somehow. I think tux scared it to death.. So now I have to install Cedega..
Cheers,
Joey

I installed it and it works! Using it, I installed RTCW. Previous version worked from the command line only and I couldn't get any sound. It now works from the desktop with sound though it's a bit unsteady (the sound). I did suffer a hard lock-up during gameplay and had to reset the entire machine. But this is MUCH farther along than I ever was before.

Have you tried installing RTCW with the linux binaries? You won't need Cedega to play it.
