Is there any software like game spy for linux? Also how can you minimize a game when your in it?

I have no idea of what's game spy, if you tell me maybe I'll be able to help.
As to how minimize, I have another option, open the game in a new X enviroment. ![]() Open your terminal and type startx -- :1 Then to switch between sessions just hit Ctrl + Alt + F7 to go to the first session and Ctrl + Alt + F8 to go to the second. ![]() Then when you're done, go to the second sesion, KMenu and finish session. |

Two sessions good idea! Gamespy is like a huge server browser for games. It will bring up more servers than in game server browsers. Plus it has a lot of cool extra features.

You can set up linux servers for gamespy from what I've seen, but I don't know if there is a client. Looking at the gamespy forums it looks like the usual answer to this question is that no one uses linux so gamespy isn't creating a client. I guess you can send them an email to ask and if they say they don't ask them to. The more people they see gaming in linux, the easier it will be to have them create a linux client.

Yep thats what I'm looking for. I did send Gamespy an email about porting the software to linux. They said they would love the idea but they beleive there isn't enough ports for that.
But the good news is if there is ever enough ports for linux they have plans to port it over. |

I'm assuming they meant there aren't enough game ported to linux yet, that's why they haven't. I can understand that and am happy that they say they will port over gamespy if more games are ported to Linux. Hopefully this will start happening since some game companies are starting to port games to the linux platform.
