I installed Eclipse using the "Install Software" option in the "Computer" menu. When I run it, though, I get this error:

JVM terminated. Exit code=1
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-cacao-0.97/jre/bin/java
-jar /usr/share/eclipse/./plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.0.v20070606.jar
-os linux
-ws gtk
-arch x86
-showsplash
-launcher /usr/lib/eclipse/eclipse
-name Eclipse
--launcher.library /usr/lib/eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_1.0.0.v 20070606/eclipse_1017a.so
-startup /usr/share/eclipse/./plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.0.v20070606.jar
-exitdata 110012
-data /home/josh/.eclipse
-vm /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.4.2-cacao-0.97/jre/bin/java
-vmargs
-jar /usr/share/eclipse/./plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.0.0.v20070606.jar

I don't know what any of this means.

I'm not sure either, although a few weeks ago I had a problem with eclipse that had an exit code of 1 as well. I _think_ that it might be a result of you using a JVM that does not match the one used to compile the openSuse package.

It looks like you are using 1.4. Try installing 1.6, and give it a go again.

If that is not an option, you can download eclipse, decompress it in its own directory, and run it from there.
