Hi everyone.

I am having problem after installing an NVidia legacy driver for my GeForce2 integrated GPU graphics card. I have followed this forum's advice:

http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/in...howtopic=65999.

Look at post number 3.

When I reboot, the graphics are 'sketchy'. By this, I mean that the screen has black block-like patches in certain places at login and once logged in, the menu items have icons but no title or comments until I place my mouse over it and the comments appear (seems to be refreshing the graphics). Another thing is that when I move windows, the background underneath becomes fuzzy.

Later I discovered that I had forgotten to add:

nvidia-xconfig --composite
nvidia-xconfig --render-accel
nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals -d 24

since Sax was complaining that 24-bit color depth was not supported by my graphics card.

However, this time after a reboot the system crashed. When I restarted, the X Server had problems initiating. I tried to fix my xorg.conf file, but no luck.

Anyway, I am trying to get compiz-fusion to work, but how likely is this with all these problems? The 'nv' driver I am using at the moment allows me to use xcompmgr, but it is quite slow when minimising windows and jerky.

If someone could help me solve this problem that would be wonderful!

Thanks.
