Hi All,

I've setup several FTP servers on OpenSUSE 10.3 and one of them is missing the handy "FTP Server" config app in the Yast Control Panel. All the servers are running VSFTP via xinetd. Any idea why the FTP Server config app decided not to show up on one of the servers? Or, better yet, how I can make it show up?

I could just edit the config file, but I'd really like to know the why/how of it.

Kind Regards,

-dc

Hello David,

Welcome to the forums

To see the module in YaST there is a package that is not installed by default , yast2-ftp-server. It can be installed via Software Management.
It can be used to manage pure-ftpd and/or vsftpd ftp-servers.

I would have expected yast2-ftp-server to be installed automatically when installing one of the two ftp servers but apparently its not set as a dependency... Could be an idea to report it.

Cheers,
Wj
