So I boot fine with compiz enabled with xgl and everything is fine until I try to run any program. When i try to open a program the screen turns white (woo...). What is going on here?
My laptop is a vaio sz240 with geforce go 7400. It seems that the latest compiz updates are to blame but has anyone been able to correct this problem? |

Sometimes running these commands as root will do the trick when using NVidia chipsets:
# nvidia-xconfig --composite # nvidia-xconfig --allow-glx-with-composite # nvidia-xconfig --render-accel # nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals If you have the compiz-fusion icon running there is also an Compiz option 'Indirect Rendering' that you can try. |
