in the screenshot above, please draw your attention to the bottom-right, in particular the lock/leave buttons.

You see there is no transparency or shading like there is on the rest of the 'taskbar'
i have tried disabling transparency on the taskbar, changing the colours all sorts but it stays grey and spoils the look of the taskbar

i have removed and re-added the buttons but still stays grey.
i have suse10.3 on another computer and when i play with transparency the lock/leave button background changes

any ideas anyone please?

Unless I'm missing something, right click on the shutdown/off icons and check the 'transparant' dialog. Works for me anyway!

By the way, where did you get your desktop weather station from?

DOH! Yes, thank you, the simple right-click > Transparent worked !!!
Hahahaha I thought it was right-click the panels > appearance etc etc

thank you VERY much!!

The desktop weather is LiquidWeather (www.liquidweather.net) you need superkaramba installed for it to work (which i think is part of kde-utils3 in yast > software management)
