I downloaded and Installed avg75fls-r45-a0973.i386.rpm from the AVG free site and Yast now says that it is installed. Now I'm trying to get to the GUI but I can't seem to find it. I looked in all the menus (gnome) and no luck. I went to /opt/grisoft/avggui and looked in the readme file and it says to install something but there is no install.sh file.
I tried going to the website http://www.grisoft.cz/linux but its not in english. Can anyone give me any help on getting to the GUI or point me in a helping direction.
Thanks

In all honesty... you really dont need this or any other antyvirus software on linux.
Jst uninstall and surf happy.
Now if you are doing something stupid like running your system as root... there aint nothing to protect you from you.

Only thing you really need to have is the firewall running, if you dont like the way the firewall that comes with suse works look for Guarddog, it is a nice, simpler interface to the fire wall that is built in.

On Suse 10.2 using the old style menu it installed under Applications->Utilities->More Programs->AVG for Linux Workstation.

The Linux version of AVG is a scanner only, and it does not auto-update like the windows version, but I still like having it installed for checking media shared with Windows Computers. What could be safer than cleaning an infection using a Linux computer? If you want to scan email then there are better solutions than AVG.

Though not really much out in the wild, there are linux viruses that have been created. Anti-virus is a very good thing if you have windows clients on your network or you want to scan files before forwarding email to friends/family/business associates that run windows. Anti-virus, firewall protection and other security procedures don't always have to be put in place to help yourself, they can be put in to place to prevent harm to others.
