Hi folks!
I have installed openSUSE two days ago. It runs smootly apart for these two issues:
1- KDE dosen't asks for user password on boot. It just gets past the login/password screen even if I am not given the chance to insert any password.
2- I have an Atheros 50001+ chipset. I installed madwifi's drivers and suse detected successfully my wireless card. The only thing that does not work is the KWlan app.
I have a router and my network is WEP protected. KWlan says that to enable encryption (WEP or WPA) needs the wpa_supplicant to be enabled for the ath0 interface. But when I try to enable it, via Kwlan, I get an error message: "kwlan was unable to start wpa supplicant". I noticed that I could connect via Yast's network manager, but I prefer using kwlan.
Thanks in advance for replys!

I can't speak to the wireless issue you're having...but
When you install opensuse you're asked to establish a user account. When you do that there is a little box checked by default (I don't know why!) that enables auto login which will automatically log you in on system start.
To change that you have to go to the control center - click the lizard - > Configure Desktop - > System Administration - > Go to the Convenience Tab - > Click the Administrator Mode button at the bottom of the screen and enter the root password - > Uncheck Enable Auto Login box by the user name.
