I have 2 problems with my suse.
1) I can't get the resolution above 600 x 400. I have tried Yast (everything is right there), the controll center.
2) Internet doesn't work on either firefox or konquerer. So I decided to configure it. I set the proxy manualy (I have a router) still nothing works.

1) Run sax2 and reconfigure your monitor/LCD. Make sure you've looked up the manufacturers horiz. and vertical refresh rate specs and enter them in the monitor config, resolution tab. Also set the screen size in the other tab. As far as the monitor/LCD type, if it is listed select it, if not pick a generic with the correct resolution. Test it before exiting sax2. If that does not get you straightened out, create a manual modeline for your monitors optimal resolution;

2)Are you behind a proxy server? If not do not set up for one. A router is not necessarily a proxy server . Post the results of the following commands run from konsole as su;

Code:
route
Code:
ifconfig
Code:
lspci | grep Ethernet
Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf

Resluts from commands:
first three:
command not found
4th one: no such file or directory.
All graphics settings where good in sax2. Still soesn't work. Staying with windows seems so much easier

That is because you have to be root (su) to run them. Literally enter 'su' (no quotes) in a console, then your root password, followed by each command.

Windows is a fine choice.
