Hi!
I have a weird problem on a completely fresh install of openSuse 10.1 Remastered. The only installed kernel package is the kernel-smp, but when I run uname -r in a console, I get kernel-default! In the lib folder, only the smp kernel is present, and in the software manager, only the smp kernel is shown installed. How is this possible? Likewise, when I try to do a make clean, I get an error that I must set kernelpath, since it can't find anything in 2.16.....kernel-default (which of course isn't there). So, three questions: 1) What is going on? 2) How can only the smp kernel be installed, while uname -r shows the default kernel? 3) How do I either 1. fix this problem, or 2. work around this issue by setting the kernelpath? I have a Pentium 4C processor with HyperThreading enabled, so smp should be right, shouldn't it? Thanks in advance! Best regards, Joachim |
