Hi!

I have a weird problem on a completely fresh install of openSuse 10.1 Remastered. The only installed kernel package is the kernel-smp, but when I run uname -r in a console, I get kernel-default! In the lib folder, only the smp kernel is present, and in the software manager, only the smp kernel is shown installed. How is this possible?

Likewise, when I try to do a make clean, I get an error that I must set kernelpath, since it can't find anything in 2.16.....kernel-default (which of course isn't there).

So, three questions:
1) What is going on?
2) How can only the smp kernel be installed, while uname -r shows the default kernel?
3) How do I either 1. fix this problem, or 2. work around this issue by setting the kernelpath?

I have a Pentium 4C processor with HyperThreading enabled, so smp should be right, shouldn't it?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Joachim

Solved! Bug in 10.1 on initial boot after OS install when using other kernels than default.
