If one install's Gurus version, it already has a reasonable set of 3rd party repositories installed. There are some dependencies to work thru, but its not difficult. There are many how-tos for it. Here is a forum neutral one: http://susewiki.org/index.php?title=...ackage_Manager I recommend smart. |

If I update all channels, will beta software be installed? As a noob, I don't want to get myself into something I will regret.

It should be available through your menusystem under "System" (most likely). Otherwise, type "kdesu smart --gui" (if you use KDE) or "gnomesu smart --gui" (if you use Gnome) from any terminal.
Stickied, since it's a common request. ~~ Andrew D. |

SMART is awesome. I have heard people having their system hosed when they did an update all, but how do you set the system to use SMART instead of Zen?

Users might also want to use linux_learner's compiled set of smart channels, which will instantly grant SMART access to every SUSE repository available. This is a painless process compared to manually finding and installing each channel.
