Where do you change those qt settings for root user, in order for smart to have a kde look in all situations?
Thanks

How do you get Ksmarttray to start automatically? I did everything in the how-to on Susewiki.com but it won't autostart, I have to start it myself. Note that I am running KDE on openSUSE 10.2 and I have already removed ZMD and co. and was using the openSUSE update applet before that. Also in a previous installation of openSUSE 10.2 I was running GNOME and I did everything in the guide on Susewiki and it autostarted without any problems.
Thanks. |

As I've said before, it takes a few times logging in and out and changing the qt theme, but it should work. Should being the key word... <_<

Hi,
I've run into a bit of difficulty installing Smart..tried: File: smart-0.42-14.guru.suse100.i686.rpm 460 KB 08/11/06 08:26:00 File: smart-0.49.1-40.guru.suse100.i686.rpm 597 KB 20/12/06 00:11:00 File: smart-0.50-1.guru.suse100.i686.rpm from ftp.gwdg.de So far I've manage to get all of the python items in (4.4.2-43-4). I'm having difficulty with the rpmmodule.so. It seems to be looking for 4.1.1.222 and is ignoring the newer version! I'm using SLED 10.0 on Kernel 2.6.16.27-0.9-smp Thanks in advance! Neil. |

It seems that one of the python packages (rpm-python) provides rpmmodule.so but doesn't seem to install it.
I've searched for rpmmodule.so but can only find _rpmmodule.so in /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/rpm/ Confused now! |

Howdy Pardners. I will start here since, even though rarely written on, it seems to be quite popular at 15k hits.
Newbie on Comaq Presario, running 10.2. I intalled smart through dvd/yast, and I am following http://susewiki.org/index.php?title=...ackage_Manager to try and automate it. Hopefully this will mean tarballs I download will install automatically, as if on Windows, they were executables. However, several questions. System wide update: when I click the big up arrow, at the bottom it says "No interesting upgrades to install". Why? Something tells me that since SUSE was released, it is highly unlikely that none of its contents has been rereleased. Using SMART as Zenworks Replacement: I search for ksmarttray and get nothing, either SMART or even Yast. Why? This might explain the following: Automating in KDE: Do I type in precisely #!/bin/bash kdesu "smart --gui $2 $3 $4 $5 $6 $7 $8 $9 install \"$1\"" or do I leave off the preceding number sign? Then when I go to open the tarball, "Unable to create channel for [name of file]. My brain is rattled. |

ref smart package manager, don't use the one on the cd's/dvd. it doesn't have everything you need. get it from here http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/rpm-naviga...t=System/smart/ comes with update channels readily configured & ready for use

Hello again Delta. Fancy meeting you here. I will not confuse you with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delta_Flyer.
OK. Uninstalled smart. Now what do I do with Guru?86-64 or x 86? If it helps, I'm on 32 bit with an AMD Turion 64 processor. Do I simply download all 5 rpms, of the latest version, extract and execute? Just, my history of using rpms has not been spectacularly successful. |
