Well, after trying several times to install xgl and compiz, I pulled it off!

but I messed something else up when I did it. Okay, the first time I installed suse 10.1, I did not "test" my monitor's settings and when everything installed, my resolution was really low. I could do next to nothing with gnome. So, I reinstalled everything and testing the monitor/gfx card settings seemed to do the trick and when I rebooted I got my corrected screen resolution (1280x1024).

Well, I used the system for a few days and seeing as this is my first week using linux, I managed to botch everything up installing xgl and some other stuff. So, I reinstalled and forgot to test the monitor and sure enough, when I rebooted, I had horribly low resolution. I decided to just install the latest ATI driver and that fixed the resolution problem. Now, I've got what I call a drawf desktop . . . When I run firefox, pages load normally, look fine, etc. Menus, title bars, and things are huge.

To illustrate this, I'll take a screen shot.

Any help? I'm hoping this is just some easy fix. I really don't want to have to reinstall, because getting xgl up and working was a nightmare that I don't want to go through again.

I'm a complete newb. The problem is fixed. For some reason, the application font size was set by the system to size 22. Changing it to 10 fixed it.
