am on a Suse Linux 9.3 Pro and every time I launch Azureus...I starts and then crashes...I'm just guessing here...but I think this could be the problem below..if you get an error message, or want to configure the java exec path, just open the azureus script file with your favorite text editor and edit the given configuration options.

If Azureus does not show up after a minute, you can try starting it manually:

* GTK:
o java -cp swt.jar:swt-pi.jar:Azureus2.jar -Djava.library.path=./ org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.Main

* Motif:
o java -cp swt.jar:Azureus2.jar -Djava.library.path=./ org.gudy.azureus2.ui.swt.Main

But really where should I do this exactly...I know what file to pull up...but where do I correct what...exactly....

This is from the error log...

Did you install Azureus via RPM, or from source? Because I've found the RPM is a little more stable than from the source .jar. Also gives you a nice "azureus" binary file, instead of typing all that.

I just used the download from there website...it is not an RPM...and it wasn't just from the raw source either...I couldn't find a 9.3 Pro RPM for Azureus...

i think the problem is with azureus referncing my old java

Java VM: Java HotSpot™ Client VM (1.4.2_08-b03 mixed mode)

instead of my lastest install of new 1.5...version...i went into the azureus script and changed the path to refernce the new java...but it shows the same

Java VM: Java HotSpot™ Client VM (1.4.2_08-b03 mixed mode)

Apt-get gives you MORE packages than YaST Sources do, and most DEFINITELY more than YOU does. YOU only gives you security updates.

As far as your Java thing goes, try running "java -version" from a command prompt... as well as "java-config -L", and posting that here.

Alphagen: I also had a lot of problems getting Azureus to work. I had different errors then you, but try switching to the Motif version a shot. That worked for me.

I finally got this working about five minutes ago...I am running Suse 9.3 Pro...In order to fix it...I installed apt...and then used the java repositories...to update my java that way...and then downloaded the Azureus RPM from the repositories and its now working fine...No crashes...and Green Smileys all around....
