I recently tried on aterm, and was quite pleased, until I discovered that "едц" got distorted. Has anyone encountered this problem, and, even better, resolved it? I'm running SuSE 9.2 Pro using Fluxbox as Window Manager.
/David P.S. In xterm "едц" looks just fine. D.S. |

I believe I just resolved the problem by adding the line
export LANG=sv_SE.ISO-8859-1 in ~/.bashrc. I did the same in ~/.profile to allow "едц" in login shells. It seems to work fine; at least pine gives me the swedish letters and I'm able to write them out in my aterm. So, I guess I'm OK! ![]() /David |

Perhaps even better is to add
export LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-1 instead. This allows "едц" in aterm, and pine, also avoiding the drawback of programs (I disovered it for k3b and gnubiff) mixing english and swedish in menus. I wanted english only, and got it as well as my "едц" (need them for "native" e-mail purposes), by the line above. /David |
