hi,

i built a kernel based on 2.6.10 and am trying to install the fglrx drivers previously downloaded from suse ftp site. i just need to know how i would go about repackaging the 2.6.10 src tree as a binary src rpm to enable me to build the ati fglxr driver and the drm module.

thanks

I'm not understanding why you need to build a kernel soource rpm. If you built your own in order to have a 2.6.10 kernel, then the kernel sources should be in /usr/src/linux.

What version of Suse are you using? If it is 9.2, then there are no ATI drivers that work with Xorg yet. Also what ATI card do you have?

hi,

thanks for the reply. i built 2.6.10 kernel and now i want to build the fglrx drm module. i have started with suse 9.1 so i am running xfree not xorg. when i try and compile the kernel source as per the instructions "make cloneconfig" will not work. the ati fglrx rpm will compile but the kernel will not load/insert...? unsure why. i did compile the kernel for amd64 so maybe that's why b/c the drivers are not compatible.

any help with how to compile the fglrx on 2.6.10 would be much appreciated.

thanks again.

ATI drivers don't support 64bit and that is why you are having problems.
