Hello,

I'm running (or rather, ran) Pine 4.61 (SuSE rpm) on SuSE 9.2. After applying
some update patches (among which a new kernel, 2.6.8-24.5-smp), Pine locks up
when trying to get to the folder screen (L).

On other platforms (Solaris, PC-Pine), using the same remote configuration,
everything works fine.

Did anyone encounter the same problem, or can somebody give me some indications
on how to try and solve it?

Tried already: removing and reinstalling Pine, using Pine without firewall.

Hi,

I got closer to the source of the problem running strace. It seems Pine locks up when trying to access an already mounted samba share. It doesn't need to access this directory, but it does anyway, together with all the other directories in my home directory.

Somebody suggested it was because this Pine RPM was probably compiled with a "maildir" driver included. Disabling the "maildir" driver didn't resolve the problem as this driver seems to be unknown to Pine. Maybe it is another driver that is the culprit however.
